Tired of sitting for hours in rush hour jams? Trying to get somewhere in a hurry but the traffic is in standstill mode? Jealous of those motorcyclists who zoom by while you literally don’t move?

M'sian Cabinet Has Given Go-Jek The Green Light To Zoom Into M'sia In The Months To Come - World Of Buzz

The answer to your problems is finally coming to Malaysia!

After our Youth and Sports Minister Syed Saddiq suggested that we bring Go-Jek (the Indonesian motorbike ride-hailing service) to Malaysia, the Cabinet took some time to have a lengthy conversation regarding bringing bike-hailing services into our country, and they’ve given the notion the green light!

Entrepreneur Development Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Yusof revealed the Cabinet’s decision after the launching of the Tekun Mart Mobile programme.

“The Youth and Sports Ministry and the Transport Ministry have been asked to work together and discuss what laws need to be amended or created to enable this service to be implemented in the country,” he had told reporters, as according to The Star.

That said, it may take a couple of months for the authorities to plan and execute the implementation of bike-hailing services in Malaysia as they emphasised on ensuring these bike-hailing services can be done legally.

“We want to ensure whatever we implement to develop the economy of our youth, it does not contravene the law,” Mohd Redzuan added.

Here’s to a faster and hopefully, cheaper ride-hailing option!
