Air Sirap, Iced Lemon Tea, Teh Tarik. These are among the assorted drinks that you can expect to see at any household for an open house during the Raya season. The closest thing you can get to satisfy your caffeine dose is the good ol’ Kopi O’.

A Malaysian barista, however, took things to the next level this year and served the guests the coffees you can expect to get at the cafes – Latte, Cappucino, you name it. In a viral Tiktok clip by @markazzempire1, Ilyas showed his younger brother, who is a barista preparing coffee for the guests with a coffee machine in the kitchen.

Yes, he has a coffee machine installed in the kitchen and Ilyas’ brother, Helmy was pouring the milk into the pitcher before frothing it to make a good cup of hot coffee. Coffee beans, milk, flavoured syrup were all at his station and it looked just like behind the scenes at a cafe.

“When you have a barista younger brother, you have to serve coffee to the guests,” Ilyas captioned.

“Cost me RM5,000 to install the machine”

In a conversation with WORLD OF BUZZ, Ilyas said his brother, Helmy has been running his cafe, @kopidankueh in Port Dickson for more than 2 years now. WORLD OF BUZZ also reached out to Helmy, who said that it was not his 1st rodeo behind the coffee machine but it was his 1st to serve coffee at home during Raya.

“It was actually my backup coffee machine. It cost me around RM5,000 to set things up. Usually, I would serve coffee to my family at my sister’s house because we have another coffee machine there,” Helmy said.

Coffee is not cheap and a cup of latte costs over RM10, especially in Klang Valley. Helmy, however, decided to serve the beverages for FREE during the Raya open house so that everyone who came got the chance to taste his coffee.

“I genuinely wanted to do good deeds by giving them free coffee. Not everyone can afford to buy a cup of coffee at the cafes,” Helmy told WORLD OF BUZZ.

You can watch Helmy in action in the clip below.
