The recent video that circulated on social media of a student getting bullied and punched in the stomach gained the attention nationwide, and the police have conducted further investigation.
As reported by Harian Metro, Datuk Mior Faridalathrash Wahid, Perak Head Chief has obtained a statement from the victim.
“After asking the victims questions to obtain more information, the victim explained the cause of the fight was because he advised one of the suspects to stop watching explicit videos.”
“The victim said if they do not stop, he will report it to the teachers or hostel warden.”
Mior said this made the six suspects furious and a Form 3 student that happened to be there ordered the six suspects to beat the victim.
Police are still searching for more suspects
So far, the police have arrested 10 individuals who are said to be involved in the incident, including friends who abetted the incident.
A total of 8 witnesses were called and statements were taken. All suspects were released on police bail after the conversation recording was sorted.
“In this case we also confiscated 11 mobile phones which we will send to forensics to see the contents in them.”
The victim is currently receiving treatment at a hospital in Selangor. According to the victim’s medical officer, the victim seems to be in stable condition and not experiencing any serious symptoms.
Those 10 suspects are now officially dropped out from MRSM
According to MARA Director-General, Datuk Azhar Abdul Manaf, they have decided to terminate the students’ studies starting on Tuesday.
“Mara takes the bullying incident that happened last week seriously and the punishment that has been decided shows that we are firm and do not compromise on bullying among students under any Mara Educational Institution, IPMa or MARA sponsorship,”
