Taking into consideration of Undi18, which encompasses new voters aged between 18 and 20, the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT) has released a recent media statement allowing students to go back to their constituencies and vote.
In her Facebook post, Ministry of Higher Education Dato’ Dr Noraini Ahmad writes: “In line with the announcement made by the Election Commission of Malaysia (SPR), the ministry has asked all institutions of higher learning to allow students to vote.”
“The dates afforded to students will be from the 17th to 21st November 2022, allowing ample time for students to go and come back from their voting locations.”
“The ministry facilitates this move to celebrate the spirit of Undi18, as approved by the Malaysian Government on 1st December 2021.”
“With the goal of creating a generation who are invested in governance based on democracy, it is important for higher education students to practice their right as voters.”
Time to exercise our rights as Malaysians!
