Mid Valley Megamall is known to be one of the most popular malls in Klang Valley, and Sunday is usually their busiest day.
However, a visit to the mall on 18th October saw the place left completely deserted as people vigilantly stayed at home.
Sights were almost surreal as the mall has always been crowded.
Only a handful of people can be seen strolling around. In fact, you could say that it’s probably safer than before as there were almost no one in sight, except the retail staff.
Parking bays also reflected very accurately the number of people present in the mall, as many were left vacant.
After CMCO is implemented and positive cases skyrocketed in KL and Selangor, roads and malls began to empty up again. Over the past week, other malls such as 1 Utama and Nu Sentral also reported positive cases within their premises.
The visit to Midvalley Megamall was very pleasant though – as the mall adhered very strictly to SOPs. Plus, there was no queue to anything!
For those who are out running errands, make sure to continuously practise safe distancing and always wear your mask.
We hope all the malls and retail sector are able to cope during this crucial times.
