With the Merdeka Day Parade happening tomorrow in Putrajaya, many are looking forward to watching an electrifying show of patriotism organised by the authorities.
And while the main prop being used for National Day is our Jalur Gemilang, one of the performances for tomorrow’s parade is an interpretive dance number that oddly involves brooms and dustbins!
Malaysia Sin Chew Daily took to their Facebook page to showcase images of the dance rehearsal at Dataran Putrajaya, which symbolises the Malaysia Madani government and the Prime Minister, Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s efforts to ‘cuci rasuah’ (clean up bribery) in our country.
They wrote, “(At the) National Day parade rehearsals, brooms are being used to ‘clean up corruption’.”
“The annual National Day parade will be held at Dataran Putrajaya on August 31 (Saturday) and today (August 29, Thursday), a full rehearsal was held. In addition to the deployment of military aircraft flying low, armed forces marching and more, there will also be a ‘cuci rasuah‘ dance performance!”
In the images showcased, the dancers could be seen in formation as they used brooms and dustbins in their interpretive dance moves.
The National Department For Culture And Arts (JKKN) also showcased the dancers performing the ‘cuci rasuah’ dance for their higher-ups days before the Merdeka Day parade rehearsals, in preparation for the big day.
What do you think about the ‘cuci rasuah’ dance performance that will take place tomorrow at the Merdeka Day parade? Do feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section.
