Three male influencers made an appearance in a singing competition last night (February 16) but their presence was not well received by Malaysian netizens as they were seen dressed in women’s outfits.
In a viral Facebook post, the user shared images of the influencers cross-dressing, which sparked outrage among the netizens who were concerned about the normalising of LGBTQ elements in Malaysia.

In a Facebook post by an academician from Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia, Dr. Ahmad Sanusi shared some Hadiths to prove that Islam prohibits its believers from dressing as the opposite sexes.

“Rasulullah (Messenger of God) prohibits Muslims from dressing up in a confusing manner, and from appearing like the opposite sexes.”
Social media users urged the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM) to take action
“This is exactly why as Muslims, we need guidelines from JAKIM. In Islam, this is wrong and sinful!”
“JAKIM, please raid the event.”
“I hope JAKIM will take strict actions against those who proudly behave inappropriately in public.”
“Men should look like men, women should look like women”
This morning, JAKIM responded to the viral matter and in a statement posted via its Facebook page, JAKIM said that in Islam, it is wrong for Muslim men to put on clothes and accessories that are meant for the ladies.
Similarly, it is also Haram for the women to dress and behave like a man.
JAKIM, however, did not disclose if they would take any action. What do you think of this?
