McDonald’s beef burgers have always been an iconic part of their menu, especially the crowd’s all-time favourite Big Mac. Now, McDonald’s just announced that they will level up their beef burgers to become hotter, juicier and tastier! That’s right! Beef burger lovers out there, be prepared to fall in love all over again with McDonald’s burgers!

Here’s the lowdown on all their new & improved beef burgers!

On 12 October, WORLD OF BUZZ had the amazing opportunity to attend the McDonald’s Beef Perfection event where they unveiled some of the new and improved changes that will be implemented to their beef burgers.

Taking over one year to research and develop the new recipe, McDonald’s beef burgers now come with a few upgraded features such as:

  • Softer glazed buns that are formulated for better heat retention
  • 100% halal beef imported from New Zealand, Australia and Brazil
  • Onions are added on top of the patty when grilling to get a caramelised taste
  • Cheese imported from New Zealand with better texture and meltier
  • The veggies are kept fresher and crispier
  • A more generous serving of the signature Big Mac sauce to ensure flavour in every bite

Apart from that, we were also informed that their beef burgers are now prepared in smaller batches in order to preserve the freshness of the burgers and ensure their quality. How awesome, right?

Here’s what went down at the #BeefPerfection event

The McDonald’s team was generous enough to give us a kitchen tour where we got to witness how their beef burgers were prepared. They appointed grill masters who were tasked with perfecting every burger and we were definitely impressed by how efficient and professional the McDonald’s staff were throughout.

Shout out to the hardworking McCrew for always delivering our favourite burgers in pristine condition!

Other than the kitchen tour, we also had a blast trying out their #TasteTheChange AR filter where we could scan a QR code that presented us with an AR version of the McDonald’s beef burgers along with information on the new changes. Additionally, there was an awesome McD #BeefPerfection 360° Cam that we could take for a spin.

But can you really #TasteTheChange with the new burgers?

Now here’s the question you’ve been waiting for!

One of our favourite parts of the event was when we were served both the old and new versions of the beef burgers so that we could really #TasteTheChange for ourselves! But before we get to the taste, feast your eyes on these delicious visuals first. Could you tell the difference just by looking at the burgers?

As for the taste, we’re pleased to report that the beef burgers really did have some distinct differences! While the old burgers still tasted great, it is obvious that the upgraded versions have various small details that will elevate your experience with every bite.

The new burgers have softer buns that stay warmer for longer, thanks to the buns’ improved heat retention. And the idea of caramelising the onions with the grilled patty really gave a whole new dimension to the taste.

The new burgers also tasted juicier and more flavourful. It almost felt like we were eating gourmet burgers! We truly enjoyed tasting the new and improved burgers and it’s evident how McDonald’s has paid attention to the smallest details just to ensure that their loyal customers can get the best value when dining with them!
