It’s no secret that there are sex workers stationed at dark corners and alley ways of Malaysian streets, especially in the wee hours of the morning.

And while it is understandable for many to disagree with the kind of work that they do, that doesn’t mean that you should seek them out with the purpose of humiliating them.

In a video showcased by the 我们是马来西亚人 We are Malaysians Facebook page, someone decided to ride around Chow Kit, Kuala Lumpur, while recording these sex workers and singing a song out loud to embarrass and disturb them.

While some of the sex workers turned away the moment they noticed a camera, one of them threw a packed drink at the harasser to shoo him off.

Malaysians have since taken to the comment section of the post to condemn the man for his actions, simultaneously defending the sex workers at the fact that many of them didn’t choose that life but was forced into it due to numerous circumstances.

“What’s wrong here? They’re not stealing, cheating, not causing crime. The truth is that they are working hard for themselves. Please have respect for each other.”

Some also pointed out that the man could be harassing the sex workers because they could be transgender, but we don’t see how that justifies such actions.
