Gordon Ramsay, the British celebrity chef who has several Michelin-starred restaurants was supposed to open the very first Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill in Malaysia in June this year, but the pandemic has caused some delay.
However, the wait to dine-in at his world-class restaurant may be over soon!
According to a report by The Malaysian Reserve, Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill is set to open its door in Malaysia somewhere in early 2022. The signature restaurant that will be located in the lobby of Sunway Resort also marks its first outlet in our country. Upon opening, Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill is expected to take its guests into a world of great elegance and luxuriousness.
From fantastic service to incredible dishes with the freshest and finest ingredients, guests can expect absolute A-class services when they dine in. In an interview with Robb Report Malaysia, Gordon also assured that,
“It’s going to have all the Ramsay touches.”
The ambience
The interior design concept was overseen by Sunway Design chief principal designer, Nelson Yong which blends Gordon Ramsay’s British heritage with the grandeur that characterises the new look of Sunway Resort.
In the meantime, the wall of the restaurant is decorated with black and white images of the British icons from the “Swinging Sixties”, which include Sean Connery, Rolling Stones and more.
A series of distinct spaces in vibrant red and dark green colours are also available and here’s what they have.
- Grand dining room with its polished walnut flooring and brass finishes.
- Semi-private seating booths
- Glittering cocktail bar with floor-to-ceiling windows facing the panoramic views of Sunway Lagoon
If you’re here for special occasions, a trio of the private dining rooms is also available for your options, which include,
- Eight Mayfair
- 10 Soho
- 12 Chelsea
This trio will also have distinct themes, with a red leather crescent sofa, a private kitchen that shutters down, and James Bond’s style after-service for complete privacy.
Wine lovers, fret-not! You can freely browse through a selection of exquisite wines curated by the in-house residence in a dedicated wine cellar.
The food
It’s Gordon Ramsay, so guests can definitely expect some tantalising dishes from London, especially the Beef Wellington. In the interview with Robb Report Malaysia, Gordon also stated that the backbone of the menu will be the premium ingredients, such as the prime cuts that are locally sourced and dry-aged in-house.
Since the outlet is opening in Malaysia, Gordon said the patrons can also expect some local dish which he has mastered over his years of travel.
“I learnt to make King Crab Laksa and short rib Rendang from the best here in Malaysia.”
