This comes right after Defence Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced that every foreign worker must be tested for Covid-19 before reporting back to work.

Just yesterday (6th May), crowds of people could be seen queuing outside a healthcare specialist centre in Glenmarie that offers free Covid-19 testing services. Outraged netizens took to Twitter to share the appalling footage of people lining up in queues as long as 1.2km without care of social distancing.

In the video, the netizen couldn’t even completely capture the entire line because it was just that long. With little to no space in between each person, this would be seen as a direct violation of the CMCO, as citizens are still required to keep a distance of at least 1 metre between each other in public.

The public urged governing authorities to observe the situation and take action immediately as this environment could cause an unwanted rise in Covid-19 cases to take place.

After Defence Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, announced that SOCSO would cover the costs of swab tests since 60% of foreigners employed in Malaysia contributed to the fund, employers and employees have been rushing to get tested so that business operations can resume as per usual.

“We are doing this because we are looking after the interests of all Malaysians. We need to make sure foreign workers are tested so that there will be no spike in cases,” said the Senior Minister in a statement recorded by the Star.

However, with the visibly crazy long lines, it’s quite ironic that the spike may very well happen as many are not practising social distancing.

What do you guys think of this?
