Malaysia has its fair share of theme parks, and we’ve got a lot to look forward to especially with the upcoming Twentieth Century Fox World theme park opening in Genting in the near future.

Now, it looks like adrenaline junkies can add another theme park to their list!

According to Channel NewsAsia, Penang’s ESCAPE theme park in Teluk Bahang is stepping up their game after it was announced that a one-kilometre long water slide will be built very soon, making it the longest water slide in the world once it’s completed in December 2018.

“From the hilltop, people will zoom down the slide which will cross Jalan Teluk Bahang beside a pedestrian link bridge and end in a swimming pool inside our water theme park,” Sim Choo Kheng, the founder of ESCAPE reportedly stated.

The slide will reportedly be so high that riders will have to be chair-lifted 420 metres to a hilltop, where the slide begins. Okay, definitely not for those who are afraid of heights!

Along with this 1km slide, other rides and attractions will also be stationed at this hilltop, which will collectively be known as Gravityplay.

This slide will be a part of ESCAPE Waterplay, the second phase of the theme park which just opened on Saturday (16th December).

Well, we definitely know where we’ll be spending our year-end holidays next year!
