A recent post has drawn widespread attention after a Malaysian man shared a disturbing experience involving his 7-year-old son, who was approached by a stranger at a mosque during Isha prayers sometime last month.
In a Facebook post, Hafiz Mustafa recounted how he had gone to the mosque with his son, Amir (pseudonym), and while he prayed in the front row, his son stayed at the back playing with a few friends.

According to Hafiz, after finishing his prayers, his son came to him to explain what had happened to him during that time.
As he recounted, Amir was arranging slippers at the mosque entrance alone when a man on a motorcycle suddenly approached and asked where the bathroom was.
“Amir showed him the way. The man then drank some water and asked Amir to accompany him to the toilet. Amir went along, and once inside, the man pulled down his pants… and the rest is history,” Hafiz wrote.
He added that, upon checking, the man’s saliva had come into contact with his son’s private parts.
“Alhamdulillah, there was no penetration, and nothing happened that caused any of the man’s bodily fluids to enter Amir’s body. The whole incident lasted about four minutes,” he said.
“In the end, my own child became a victim of paedophilia.”
Hafiz also mentioned that the unknown man rode off on his motorcycle after leaving the toilet. He added that Amir recalled seeing the same man at the mosque before the incident, asking the same question, but nothing happened at the time.
“This suggests the man may have been observing the children’s behaviour at the mosque. All movements were captured on CCTV and have been handed over to the police. The suspect’s face is fairly clear, and I estimate he’s around 25–29 years old,” Hafiz said.
He also urged mosque authorities:
“If possible, set up a designated play area for children and provide supervision throughout Ramadan. Make sure CCTV cameras are high quality, not just for show,” he added.

Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Hafiz shared that his son is fortunately not traumatised by the incident, though he still plans to take him to see a psychiatrist as a precaution.
“If possible, please don’t let this story stop other parents from bringing their children to the mosque. Instead, let’s work together to find ways to prevent such incidents without affecting children’s relationship with the mosque.
Everyone has a role to play including the community, mosque authorities, and enforcement agencies. At the same time, we need to stay vigilant, as incidents like this can happen anywhere,” he added.
Hafiz also expressed his hope that his son’s story would serve as a reminder for all parents to be more watchful and cautious.
