In an anti Valentine’s Day campaign, the Persatuan Belia Islam Nasional recently released a guide on how women should behave around “non-mahram” men.
Fret not, the guide is also applicable on normal days. Cause you know, women don’t know how to behave.
The guide was released in conjunction with the organisation’s annual anti-valentine campaign; stating that the celebration is a threat to muslims’ faith and encourages them to engage in illicit sex.
In the guide, it states that when texting “non-mahram” men (aka men that they are not allowed to come in physical contact with unless they have legal ties such as a husband or father), women should keep their texts short and simple and should not use emoticons. Um, okay…
Muslim women are also urged to avoid making their voices sound too sweet and to cover up their “aurat”, or intimate parts.

Furthermore, the guide also mentioned that women should avoid meeting up with “non-mahram” men during inappropriate times. Only when the Sun is up girls!
Facebook user, Siti Atie Atka stated that the ‘guide’ was sexist and that men should have a longer list of rules to follow.
“You can’t even use emoticons? Wow males’ imagination are so the very imaginative and wild ke? What’s wrong with emoticons? It all matters on how each person comprehends it,” she commented.

Earlier the organisation released a list of things the youth could do to support the campaign and it even included encouraging them to publicly chastise/lecture/scold couples they feel do not have a legal relationship.
I’m not sure about you but this feel a little too much don’t you think?
