“If you have ever been in a road accident and your car has got to be towed. You know what happens next. And you are dreading it – the stress, the wait, the long-drawn process.” said Zakri Khir, CEO of Allianz Malaysia Berhad.

Most of us think that a car accident will never happen to us. However, imagine when it actually does – even if it’s a minor bump. How would you feel then?

“OMG was it my fault??, “How bad is the damage?”, “What do I do now?” are the first few things that would race through our minds. Not to mention having to deal with the rampant tow truck touts/car workshops that scam victims of their money.

That is why Allianz Malaysia pushed out their newest initiative that soon received a lot of praises from Malaysians. And we swear it’s really good.

With absolutely no extra cost, Allianz who cares for the people’s safety, has set up this service that will take care of EVERYTHING for their policy holders.

Allianz Road Rangers will be there for you from start till end, so you don’t have to go through it alone. What’s more, they are professionals!

Here’s what they will do:

  1. Victim’s call will be quickly answered and a motorbike assistance staff will be dispatched asap to the accident site, together with a tow truck.
  2. Motorbike staff will arrive faster and assess what are the actions to be taken.
  3. Motorbike staff will arrange a transport to drive family members home safely while policy holder follows tow truck to closest designated traffic police station.
  4. Allianz concierge will be available in selected traffic police stations to help policy holder fill out the confusing paperwork.
  5. Tow truck will take damaged car to authorized repairers.
  6. Another rideshare transport will be arranged for policy holder to be taken home.
  7. Call centre attendant will be making frequent calls as a follow up to ensure claim documents are submitted and car repairs are done.

Allianz promises that the concierges are available 24/7, as special arrangements have been made with the police force.

“All this service is for free, there is no additional premium charge,” Zakri promised. “Our focus is on the customer experience, and we have zero tolerance for any complaints made by the customer during this entire process.”

This unique and impeccable initiative by Allianz is definitely a first of its kind in Malaysia. At least it allows us drivers to have a piece of mind knowing that someone’s there for us (24/7 of the time too!) – especially when road scams are plaguing the country. Plus, Malaysia is rated the top 18th country in the world with the highest road accidents. It wouldn’t hurt to be extra careful.

Currently this service is only available within the Klang Valley – from Rawang to Seremban and even Klang. It will be launched nationwide, including East Malaysia within the next 12-18 months.
