Malaysia Records New High in Daily Cases: 691 Positive and 4 Deaths

Malaysia has recorded a whopping 691 new Covid-19 cases as of 6 October 2020. This makes it the highest increase ever in the history of Covid-19 in the country to date! Yesterday (5 October), the country saw a 100+ increase in cases when the daily total of Covid-19 cases increased to 432.

Of the total cases, 688 are local cases while three cases are imported. Unfortunately, four new deaths have been recorded, raising the death toll to 141.

A majority of the new cases come from Sabah with 219 new cases and Kedah with 397 new cases. Meanwhile, Selangor records 38 Covid-19 cases.

The breakdown of the remaining cases are as follows:

  • Kedah – 397
  • Sabah – 219
  • Putrajaya – 1
  • Labuan – 1
  • Selangor – 38
  • Kuala Lumpur – 4
  • Terengganu – 1
  • Perak – 8
  • Johor – 6
  • Sarawak – 3
  • Negri Sembilan – 7
  • Penang – 3
