Malaysians have poisoned cats and dogs, and now, they’re beginning to poison birds as well.

The Malaysia Animal Association took to their Facebook page to showcase pigeons suffering to death in Penang after being fed poisoned food.

They wrote, “More cruelty and animal crime in Penang. A group of starving birds died on the spot after eating poisoned food. The incident happened at 8.00am this morning (8 December), when a witness informed us that there was a stranger feeding the birds and the birds immediately struggled and died after eating the food given to them by the foreign individual.”

It turns out that the pigeons are regular visitors at Jalan Saujana Permai, Penang, and residents of the area normally feed them.

“Any resident that knows the foreign individual who fed the birds until they foamed their beaks, please do channel your information to the Malaysia Animal Association via WhatsApp at +601120901097 immediately,” they added.

The coming of the new year was meant to be the start of something better, for the awareness against animal cruelty. We genuinely hope that the authorities find the person responsible for poisoning these poor birds.
