We are all very familiar with the iconic Malaysia Airlines’ uniform worn by their cabin crew, right?

Well, the blue uniform is undoubtedly one of the most unique airline uniforms because it perfectly captures the cultures and traditions of Malaysia. Hence, this is exactly why the Malaysia Airlines’ kebaya was named one of the most beautiful airline uniforms in the world, as reported by TV3.

Chang Chin Kwang, who is the Head of the School of Hospitality in MAB Academy, said that the Malaysia Airlines’ baju kebaya is unique because it captures the essence of Malaysia.

This because the design of the kebaya is heavily inspired by our batik and local flowers like frangipani (Cempaka), jasmine (Bunga melur) and hibiscus leaves. If Malaysia was a piece of clothing, this is it!

If you didn’t know, Malaysia Airlines’ uniform was designed by fashion students from the School of Fashion Faculty of MARA Institute of Technology (UiTM) on 1 March 1986. Then, in 1993, the colour of our national carrier’s uniform was revamped to the colour that it is today, blue and pink. We can’t deny that the colour combination looks good!

We are also pretty sure that Malaysians are very proud of this outstanding accomplishment because it’s not easy to be listed as one of the most beautiful uniforms among many other strong competitors. That said, we hope that Malaysia Airlines will see more similar victories like this in the near future. Well done, Malaysia Airlines!
