He didn’t notice the height limit sign

Segamat District Police Chief, Superintendent Ahmad Zamry Marinsah, said the incident occurred at about 4:28 PM while the lorry was travelling from Labis towards Selangor.

As the vehicle approached the tunnel, the driver reportedly failed to notice the height restriction, which led to the top of the lorry getting stuck in the tunnel.

“Investigations revealed that the driver, a local man in his 20s, did not pay proper attention to the height limit sign before the lorry collided with the top of the tunnel,” Zamry said.

No casualties were reported

Fortunately, no casualties were reported as a result of the incident.

Zamry added that the case is currently being investigated under Section 79(2) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for the driver’s failure to comply with traffic signals.

He also reminded the public to stay vigilant and pay close attention to safety signs, while urging all road users to follow traffic rules at all times to prevent accidents and other unwanted incidents.
