Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri (LHDN) has denied having a TikTok account in a media statement today (31 December). This comes days after claims of LHDN having a TikTok account started surfacing online when a comment on a TikTok video went viral.

In the 12-second clip, a boy is seen walking around an expensive car on a rooftop. However, the video in question only started gaining traction online after a comment by an account posing as the LHDN commented saying: “Get all your documents ready. You thought we didn’t have a TikTok right?”

In response to this viral comment, LHDN clarified that the only social media accounts they have are their website (www.hasil.gov.my), Facebook (www.facebook.com/LHDNM), Twitter (@LHDNMofficial), Instagram (@LHDNM), and Youtube (LhdnTube).

In order to avoid the misuse of LHDN’s identity and public confusion, they have also lodged a police report against the fake account posing as LHDN on TikTok followed through an official report to Suruhanjaya Komunikasi dan Multimedia Malaysia (SKMM).

LHDN urges all Malaysians to stay vigilant and to be responsible when posting on social media. Any questions and feedback regarding the matter can be forwarded to the LHDN via:

a) Hasil Care Line at 03-8911 1000 / 603-8911 1100 (Luar Negara);
b) HASiL Live Chat; and
c) Feedback Form on the LHDNM official portal
