Beloved Nightline TV3 news anchor, Raymond Goh, also known by his Muslim name, Muhammad Zaman Goh Abdullah, has been confirmed dead at 10:40am this morning (September 12) at a private medical facility in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
Based on a report by Astro Awani, he was reported to have been in critical condition after suffering a stroke and was being treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital. The news of Raymond’s passing was confirmed by the deceased’s family in a statement issued earlier.
According to his wife, Faridah Teh, the funeral and prayers for Raymond will be held at the Masjid At-Taqwa in Taman Tun Dr Ismail and his body will be buried at the Bukit Kiara Islamic Cemetery following the funeral ceremony, today.
Prime Minister, Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim (DSAI) has since also shared his condolences over the loss of the media industry giant.
“I send my condolences to the family of Nightline TV3 news anchor, Allahyarham Raymond Goh or Mohd Zaman Goh, who died this morning. I pray for them to persevere in the face of this heartbreak,”
“The broadcasting world will miss the deceased and it is certain that his services will be remembered forever,” he said in a Facebook post.
Raymond Goh began his career as a news anchor on the 7 o’clock news and later moved to the channel’s Nightline broadcast. He went on to serve in the world of broadcasting for over 30 years and was later also a coach for pronunciation.
