Did you know that in Malaysia, as according to CompareHero,  jaywalking is a chargeable offence that can land you a penalty fine of up to RM500? Well, if you didn’t know, you do now.

One four-legged Malaysian that won’t be punished by this offence, however, is a little stray dog who decided to wait for a traffic light to turn green before crossing a road in Kota Samarahan, Sarawak. In a clip shared by user named Zaf to his page @zaf4795, the user in question captured an instance where he, along with other road users, waited at a traffic junction.

Just feet away from them at the front of the line was a beige-coloured doggo. Standing in line just as the other vehicles did, the pup stopped patiently, and ready, for cars on the adjacent side of the street to move along. After the traffic light at the lane he was standing in turned green, other cars started to move forward and along with their journey.

Noticing the movement of the cars, the dog himself sensed his cue, and briskly ran across the road, heading on his way too.

Garnering a massive response online, many users commented on how smart and law-abiding the dog was, understanding when to stop and when to run.

Even dogs know that the red light means it’s time to stop,” penned one user.

On the other hand, another user also praised the animal for his intelligence, while also wishing him safety in his journey, as it is visible that the creature is a stray.
