The ‘Like’ button on Facebook has been there since forever and sometimes, it could become pretty awkward in some situations.
You know, for example your friend’s relative passed away and well, you can’t exactly ‘like’ their post. Yet you want to express support that you’ve read their touching post.
Well, we no longer have to suffer through these type of situations!
Facebook just rolled out their new ‘Reaction’ feature and it includes 5 extra emojis to accompany the once lonely ‘like’ button. Facebook users can now express “love,” “haha,” “wow,” “sad” or “angry”.
To use these reactions, simply hold down the like button on your mobile or for desktop, hover over the like button to see the reaction image options. After that, just select the reaction you want!
These reactions were tested out last October by a few countries, some including Ireland, Spain and Japan.
Sorry guys. still no dislike button!
Instead of 5, there were initially 6 emojis, with the “yay” reaction being dropped out after Facebook team found that the reaction wasn’t universally understood.
“The ones that people felt were a little more vague or confusing we ended up dropping,” said product design director, Julie Zhuo.
“We wanted to make sure that set felt right and universal.”
Excited? We know we are!
