KTMB Issues Apology After Train Doors Remain Dangerously Open While Speeding to Next Station

Passengers had the shock of their lives when the KTM Komuter train that they were commuting in had one of its doors wide open while speeding to the next station towards Padang Besar, Perlis.

Netizen Soloman Tan, took to his Facebook page to showcase a video of the incident.

He wrote, “(This is the) first time I’ve encountered doors that couldn’t be closed (during a) Padang Besar KTM route.”

In the video, one of the train doors could be seen wide open as it was speeding to its next station.

While passengers stayed away from the doors, one man tried pulling the lever next to the opened doors in an attempt to aid in the situation.

 

KTM Berhad has since apologised for the incident and has emphasised that repairs have been made.

Taking to Solomon Tan’s post, they commented, “Dear passengers, KTMB would like to extend our sincerest apologies for any inconveniences caused by the recent incident. We understand that this situation has impacted your journey, and we greatly appreciate your patience and support.”

“Upon receiving the report regarding the incident, we took immediate action and completed the necessary repairs within the same day to ensure the safety and comfort of our passengers. We are committed to continuously improving our services to prevent similar incidents in the future. Thank you for your attention and cooperation.”
