Previously, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim hinted at “good news” before announcing that all Malaysians aged 18 and above will get a one-off RM100 cash aid.
The cash aid, under the Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) programme, will be distributed using MyKad starting August 31.

The SARA box will be distributed to those in need
Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) Datuk Fuziah Salleh recently highlighted MYDIN’s effort in supporting the IHSAN agenda through the Rahmah SARA Box Assistance.
In a video, she explained that the programme runs on a simple ‘buy and donate’ concept, where the public can purchase boxes filled with basic necessities to be distributed to Malaysians in need.
“The MADANI Government has introduced the SARA assistance programme for everyone starting August 31, 2025. With MYDIN’s initiative, this programme gives people the chance to contribute by buying these boxes, which will then be distributed to B40 families, single mothers, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities (PWD),” she said.

“RM100 could cover monthly expenses”
Later in the video, Fuziah highlighted that while RM100 might seem small to some, it could actually be enough to provide support.
She added that this shows how government aid can make a real difference for certain groups.
“If an elderly couple is living together, RM100 might just be enough to cover their monthly necessities. The value of that RM100 (SARA) really depends on the person; for everyday Malaysians, it can mean a lot.”
