Kluang Man Drives Axia Around Roundabout for Hours, PDRM Confirms He Has Schizophrenia

An incident at the Mahkota roundabout in Kluang, Johor, caught the attention of Malaysians recently. Locals spotted a white Perodua Axia driving around the roundabout for hours nonstop with the emergency lights on.

Kluang Hari Ini shared a video of the incident on TikTok, which has since gone viral, garnering over 1.9 million views as of this writing.

Driving suffers from schizophrenia

Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) then intervened, stopping the driver, a local man in his 50s, and has since brought him to the Enche’ Besar Hajjah Khalsom Hospital for treatment.

According to Sinar Harian, Kluang District Police Chief ACP Bahrin Mohd Noh confirmed that the driver has schizophrenia and had previously received treatment for the mental disorder at Johor Bahru’s Permai Hospital in 2020 and 2021.

Bahrin further revealed that the Kluang District Police received a report on the incident at around 8:20 pm on Thursday (13 February). The police stopped the vehicle around 10 minutes later.

Thankfully, no accidents or injuries were reported. Investigations further revealed that the driver’s older brother owns the Axia.
