KLIA Snags 4th Place for Most Instagram-Worthy Facilities in the World, Outranking Changi Airport

Instagrammable spots aren’t limited to cute cafes or beautiful beaches, airports are actually among those popular locations, too! And since KLIA is famous for its “unique modern design blended with nature,” it perfectly sets the stage for today’s discussion!

KLIA snagged the 4th spot for the most Instagram coverage!

KL International Airport in Sepang has just surpassed Singapore’s Changi Airport in the ranking for having the most Instagram-worthy facilities!

A study by travel site Miss Tourist found that KLIA snagged the 4th spot on the list, racking up an impressive 600,336 posts on Instagram.

Which airports are the most Instagrammable?

The study started with a list of the top 50 busiest airports in the world based on passenger traffic and then checked out the most popular hashtags for each airport.

According to Simple Flying, by looking at how many times each hashtag was used on Instagram, they were able to identify which airports are the most Instagrammable.

Malaysia has outdone Singapore’s Changi Airport!

Los Angeles International Airport snagged the top spot with a massive 3,393,690 hashtags, while San Francisco International Airport followed in 2nd with 1,047,624 posts.

London Heathrow Airport came in third with 762,904 hashtags. Meanwhile, Changi Airport took 5th place with 581,993 posts.

Other airports that made the top 10 include Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport with 478,744 hashtags, Dubai International Airport with 451,229, Tokyo Haneda Airport with 448,039, and Frankfurt Airport with 326,069.
