About a week ago, the Kuala Lumpur City Council (DBKL) showcased how they had raided multiple locations and seized tents, stalls, tables and chairs set up by eateries that block roadsides.

And while most places would take that as a hint (you know, to not block roadsides), some would just wait a couple of days and set up shop again.

The Datuk Jahat Hensem Twitter page recently shared how one of the eateries that was raided by DBKL had already set up new tents by the roadside, after their old ones were seized by DBKL.

Seize 1

They wrote, “Hahaha, DBKL seized their red tents, they just set up blue tents. Does the DBKL mayor feel no shame? Vendors have no fear of the law.”

“Almost all the places are like this. Seized today, tomorrow they’ll start back again.”

In DBKL’s post, their officers could be seen seizing the tents and other items the restaurant had set up by the roadside.

Seize 2 1

Subsequently, Datuk Jahat Hensem’s post showed the same restaurant with new, blue tents set up exactly where their old items were seized, just about a week after DBKL’s raid.

It is truly saddening to see how little impact enforcement has on people who disregard the law and cause hazards on the road.
