Just when we thought the Covid-19 situation was getting better, we were shocked today by two new cases in Malaysia and multiple new cases across the globe. We’re so concerned about the symptoms one would face if they had contracted the virus but no one can deny the impact of the panic and paranoia this virus caused. To clarify the problems that could be faced, Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia tweeted an explanation.
Situasi #COVID19 boleh menyebabkan individu terkesan dari segi emosi dan psikologi.

The tweet explained that they are not sharing about the symptoms of the virus itself but the side-effects from the panic of the Covid-19 situation that can affect a person emotionally and psychologically. The symptoms include:
- Sleep disturbances
- Appetite changes
- Worrying
- Quick to get offended
- Palpitations
- Inability to focus
- Gets upset quickly and cries easily
- Difficulty in breathing
- Loss of interest in activities
They reiterated that these are NOT symptoms of the Covid-19 virus but instead symptoms of the fear due to the outbreak of the virus itself. Although it seems hard to believe that the virus could cause this much psychological effect, a few weeks ago, a man from India committed suicide because he convinced himself he had the virus when he actually didn’t.
If you happen to have these symptoms, make sure to visit a doctor and get yourself examined. Be careful and do not let the virus get to you!
