JUST IN: Malaysia Records 869 Cases Today

Based on today’s Covid-19 update from the Ministry of Health Malaysia, there are 869 new cases as of today (17 October), bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 19,627. From those numbers, a total of 12,561 patients have recovered and been discharged, including today’s 302 patients.

Unfortunately, there are four reported deaths today, bringing the number of casualties at 180.

Out of the 869 new cases today, 451 are in Sabah, 189 are in Pulau Pinang, 159 are in Selangor and 38 cases in Kedah.

There’s been an alarming increase in the number of positive cases of late. This means we should tread lightly, be more careful and adhere to the standard operating procedures set in place. Stay safe, everyone!
