Living our ordinary lives as working class Malaysians mean that sometimes, we tend to take things for granted. Simple things such as a roof over our heads, clean clothes, warm bed and good food to fill our tummies are not truly appreciated by us.
Well, a kind-hearted netizen, Xu recently made friends with a 13-year-old youth, who had never been to school before because his family was too poor and he had to suffer from starvation every night. So sad!

After some investigation, the teenager brought him back to his house, which shocked Xu into posting a status about the poverty-stricken youth he encountered and the sad state of his home.
He shares,
“We need to learn how to be content with our lives and appreciate the things we have. I know why he is suffering from starvation, just look at the state of his house. There is no gas in the kitchen, and the cooking hob is spoilt as well. His father is a Malaysian, but he doesn’t even have the money to make his Mykad.”
“In addition, he also owes someone else RM300, and until he manages to make his own Mykad, his son cannot have one. I’m sharing this out because I want to help them, and I hope you guys are able to help them out as well. You don’t have to donate any money at the moment, because the father doesn’t have a bank account yet. What’s most important is that he is able to get daily necessities. Let’s help them together.”

The post included photos of the shocking condition of his house but yet the teenager is smiling happily in the photos. It quickly went viral and has garnered more than 4,800 shares in less than 24 hours, where many netizens expressed their concern over the poor kid’s condition.
They were deeply sympathetic and offered to donate groceries, furniture and money.
However, the poster has replied and thanked the users’ kindness but said, “We need to clean up the house first and then only we will update on the next step.”
According to the status, he is believed to be living in Kajang.
Let’s hope the good Samaritans really make a difference in that unfortunate kid’s life! And if you’d like to offer some help, you can reach out to Xu here.
