Sometimes, how a man treats animals says a lot about his personality, especially if his actions are bound to criticisms from those who don’t understand.
A kind Malaysian man in Miri, Sarawak decided to take care of the puppies and a dog after their owners passed away recently but here’s a minor concern. The kind man is a Muslim and despite knowing about the criticisms that he might face, he insists to care for the dogs because he knows that dogs, too, are part of many many God’s creations.
“They’re just like my children”
The man certainly knows what he’s doing by adopting the furry friends, saying that he doesn’t have the heart to abandon them.
“If God deems me a sinner, I accept it. But deep down in my heart, I know dogs’ lives are precious too and I just can’t ignore them.”
Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) branch youth secretary councillor, Leslie Lau had suggested for the man to let someone else care for the dogs, to which he politely said no. This is because the man cares for the animals like they are his own children.
“I’ll take care of them until they are old, unless I’m unable to do so,” the man insisted.
Dogs are not the only animals that receive “special care” under the man’s shelter but also cats. According to a report by Sin Chew, he once adopted and took care of 60 cats at once but as of now, the number has declined to 30 due to financial constraints.
“The more you adopt, the more you…”
1 of the dogs that the man is currently taking care of, Bibi, has been him with him for years.
“I was there when Bibi was young, underneath an abandoned car and in labor. It broke my heart.”
Speaking of the criticisms, the man will do nothing and ignore them because he believes in blessings, and will not allow the harsh words to deter his will from caring for the unfortunate animals.
“My religion teaches me that the more animals you adopt, the more blessings you will receive.”
If the dogs and other animals which the man has taken of could speak, they would definitely thank him every day for the shelter.
