Admittedly, public toilets can be quite dirty and disgusting at times, but that’s not why the North Korea supreme leader Kim Jong-un travels everywhere with his personal portable lavatory.
He does this because foreign powers have been trying to collect and analyse his excretion in order to ‘know’ him better. No, we’re not joking!
According to Lee Yun-keol, who used to be a part of the North Korean Guard Command unit but is now a defector in South Korea, the supreme leader’s dump contains valuable information.
“The leader’s excretions contain information about his health status so they can’t be left behind,” he said.
In fact, it was previously reported by the Guardian that one of the vehicles in his convoy has a built-in toilet, which can only be used by him, and he even uses it within North Korea while conducting routine inspections at military bases and state-run factories!
“The restrooms are not only in Kim Jung-un’s personal train but whatever small or midsize cars he is travelling with and even in special vehicles that are designed for mountainous terrain or snow.
“There are multiple vehicles within the convoy so that people cannot tell which one he is in, and there is a separate car that acts as his restroom,” a source close to the Escort Command said .
What about when he’s hitting the highway in his black Mercedes?
Well, he’s got that covered as well because it was said that he has a separate chamber pot in that car for him to relieve himself. Poor driver…
Surprisingly, this ‘poop-stealing’ practice has been around for a long time as a form of espionage. Believe it or not, Josef Stalin of Soviet used to steal Mao Zedong’s excretion when the latter visited Moscow in the 1940s.
This secret project only surfaced after former Soviet agent Igor Atamanenko browsed through the archives of Russian secret services, according to BBC.
“In those days, the Soviets didn’t have the kind of listening devices which secret services do today. That’s why our specialists came up with the most extravagant ways of extracting information about a person.
“For example, if they detected high levels of amino acid Tryptophan, they concluded that person was calm and approachable.
“But a lack of potassium in poo was seen as a sign of a nervous disposition and someone with insomnia,” Atamanenko said.
During Mao’s 10-day visit to Moscow, he was fed with tons of food and drinks so that his bowel movement could be regular. This method of espionage was reportedly adopted by the CIA and MI6 as well!
Do you think this is an effective strategy? Also, do you think foreign powers are still going after Kim’s poop? Tell us what you think of this entire situation in the comments!
