With so much cruelty happening in the world nowadays, it’s hard to see the hope that’s left for humanity. However, now and again we come across special souls like this Kelantanese doctor who remind us that there’s still some good left in this world.
A mother of three-month-old baby, Farah Hanis Fairol Haziri, fell into a coma while she was still pregnant. The mother, known as Kamareeah Arwae, has been comatose since December last year due to a brain tumour growth.
Farah was born via C-Section and for two months now, she’s been surviving purely on milk formula that’s fed to her through a tube attached to the neck of her mother. Can you hear the sound of my heart breaking?
Upon hearing the tear-jerking story, Dr Siti Nur Aqilah Mohd Khairul Adnan felt compelled to help in any way that she could. The caring doctor of Klinik Kesihatan Wakaf Che Yeh in Kota Bharu made the selfless decision of stepping in to provide Farah with natural breast milk.
As a mother of a five-month-old baby boy herself, Dr Siti knew how important it was for the child to grow with the warmth and essential nutrients that milk formula would not be able to provide.
Since discovering Farah’s tragic story, the good-natured doctor has been supplying breast milk to Farah’s family on a weekly basis so the child will receive the nourishment she needs. What a Superwoman! ?
Dr Siti told Berita Harian,
“Since it has been two months that the baby had been drinking milk formula, the family agreed with my request and intentions…”
She reports that the baby looks like she’s doing a lot better since being given breast milk.
“As breast milk is very nutritious, her skin is more springy and flexible now…”
Siti goes on to say that God willing, she will continue to supply Farah with breast milk until she reaches an age where she no longer needs it.
We’ve great admiration for you, Dr Siti! We hope her story has inspired you, as it has us. 🙂
