Are there plans for skyscrapers in Kedah? The state Menteri Besar recently said that constructing high-rise buildings is NOT a priority now.
Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor said the state government is focused on building houses for the poor through the Kampung Sejahtera project.

“The initiative is to provide house lots to the poor who don’t have houses or lands.”
“We don’t have skyscrapers in Kedah. We just want to build houses for the poor so that they can have shelters and better lives,” Sanusi said as reported by Sinar Harian.
Sanusi also said that the state government has requested the Federal Government’s cooperation in providing basic infrastructure in Kampung Sejahtera, such as drainage systems, roads, water supply, and electricity. He said that the Prime Minister agreed to the request because it was in line with the Federal government’s priorities, to which Sanusi was deeply grateful.

“The Prime Minister has approved immediate allocations to enable infrastructure to be developed, involving a cost of tens of millions of ringgit.”
“But I hope the allocations can be channelled immediately not just for the smooth running of the project but also the comfort of the people.”
Sanusi added that if the central government’s assistance is not distributed immediately, the state government will continue the initiative according to its existing capabilities. The Kampung Sejahtera initiative was introduced last year.
What do you think of his take on this matter?
