In recent news, 3 police officers who serve at the Kajang police headquarters, were arrested while partying at an entertainment centre in Taman Dutamas, Cheras.
In a statement from the Selangor Police, it was confirmed on October 5th (Saturday) that the officers aged between 37 and 57 were among the 14 individuals arrested during a police raid at the entertainment centre.
The police officers tested positive for drugs
The raid was carried out by a team from the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department at the Selangor police headquarters after they received information.
Selangor Police Chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said that after doing inspections and urine tests, all 14 people ended up testing positive for drugs, including the said police officers.
“All 14 individuals tested positive for drugs, including the 3 police officers. Suspects have been remanded for 2 days from October 5th until October 6th (yesterday) for further investigation under Section 15(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.”
Strict actions will be taken against the officers
Hussein mentioned that the suspects were quickly transferred to the Management Department at the Selangor Contingent Police Headquarters while they wait for the investigation results.
He also emphasised that officers and personnel aren’t allowed to be in entertainment centres unless they’re on official duty.
He also added that strict action, including criminal charges, will be taken against any officer and personnel who violates orders, including those involved in drug abuse.
