It has been a while since Malaysians were freely allowed to watch movies at the cinema. Since the pandemic hit the country, cinemas across the country have been temporarily closed for the past few months until further notice.
For the last couple of weeks, cinemas have been trying their best to urge the government to allow the reopening of cinemas for those who are vaccinated.
And the time has finally come!
Today, Prime minister Ismail Sabri announced that cinemas are to officially reopen on 9 September to individuals who are fully vaccinated, as reported by BERNAMA.
He added that the capacity of individuals in the screening hall will be capped at 50%.
Golden Screen Cinemas too took to their Twitter to share their excitement upon the announcement!
