“Just back from KL and I’m ashamed”
The user admitted he had “very low expectations” for his last-minute travel change due to heavy rains, having chosen Malaysia over Vietnam, but was left completely stunned by what he experienced.
He went on to describe Kuala Lumpur as a well-planned and organised city.
“No potholes on roads, no politicians’ photos or banners, cleanliness everywhere, top-class civic sense, great quality of life, clean air, and helpful people,” he wrote.

“I feel sorry for foreigners who visit India”
According to him, the stark contrast to Indian cities really struck him, and he expressed sympathy for foreigners who have to visit India for holidays.
“We landed in Kuala Lumpur and oh my, I’ve always been against the idea of Indians settling abroad, but suddenly I felt bad for the foreigners who visit India on vacation and for NRIs (Non-Resident Indian) who are forced to return for various reasons.”
He claimed that many Indians seem to have given up on the government and municipal bodies, and despite the country’s resources and potential, most citizens still struggle to access basic amenities.
“We’re too caught up in petty issues, celebrating IPL or T20 wins, idolising celebrities, or blindly supporting our favourite politicians without ever holding them accountable. Honestly, I’ve kind of lost hope. Looking at the current situation, the goal feels incredibly far away,” he concluded.
