Two luxury vehicle drivers were caught in a JPJ operation on Thursday (June 12) for not having valid road tax and motor vehicle licenses (LKM). When questioned, the drivers of the BMW X5 and Ford Mustang explained their reasons for not renewing the documents.
They cited financial difficulties.
During the operation along the Kajang-Cheras Expressway, the Ford Mustang driver, in his early 30s, stated that he was unable to renew his LKM due to outstanding summonses and being blacklisted.
The BMW driver, in his 40s, had been driving without valid road tax for over a year.

Selangor JPJ Director Azrin Borhan said both drivers cited financial problems as the main reason for not renewing their LKM and road tax, despite owning luxury vehicles worth hundreds of thousands of ringgit.
Both vehicles were seized and taken to JPJ Shah Alam for further action. Azrin emphasised that owning a luxury vehicle does not exempt anyone from the law, and all road users are required to have valid LKM and insurance, as reported by Sinar Harian and JPJ Selangorâs official Facebook page.
He also advised all road users to ensure their vehicles comply with the regulations at all times.
