A recent incident occurred at the Lebuh Putra roundabout in Bandar Putra, Kulai, Johor, involving a motorcyclist and a driver. The encounter escalated into a physical altercation following a traffic dispute.
Kulai District Police Chief, ACP Tan Seng Lee, confirmed in a statement that the police received a report from a 37-year-old motorcyclist who was injured during the confrontation. The incident took place on 3 April while the victim was on his way to work.

Motorcyclist assaulted by driver at Johor roundabout after near collision
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect’s vehicle suddenly changed lanes, almost hitting the victim’s motorcycle.
“The incident reportedly happened on 3 April at around 5:45 PM, while the victim, a 37-year-old local man, was riding his motorcycle on his way to work in Singapore,” Tan stated.
“The victim tapped on the suspect’s car window in response, which seemed to anger the suspect. He then abruptly stopped his vehicle in the middle of the roundabout, right in front of the victim’s motorcycle, forcing him to halt suddenly,” he added.
He added that the suspect then got out of his vehicle and kicked the victim’s motorcycle, causing it to topple over.
The victim was struck on the head and body by the suspect before several bystanders stepped in to break up the fight. As a result, the victim sustained injuries and experienced pain in various parts of his body.

The suspect has been remanded for four days
Tan added that the suspect was arrested on 4 April at his home and has been remanded from 5 to 8 April to assist with the investigation.

The public is also advised not to make any speculations that could affect the police investigation,” he added.
The case is being investigated under the following provisions of the Penal Code:
- Section 279 â Rash or negligent driving, punishable by up to 6 monthsâ imprisonment, a maximum fine of RM2,000, or both.
- Section 323 â Causing injury intentionally, punishable by up to 1 yearâs imprisonment, a maximum fine of RM2,000, or both.
- Section 506 â Criminal intimidation, punishable by up to 2 yearsâ imprisonment, a fine, or both.
- Section 427 â Mischief causing damage to a motorcycle, punishable by 1 to 5 yearsâ imprisonment, a fine, or both.
