We’ve seen time and time again, how movies from the childhoods of 90’s kids are being remade into modern versions of the classics. From 1999’s She’s All That to 2021’s He’s All That and 2004’s Mean Girls and 2024’s Mean Girls, we’re constantly wondering which other 90’s and 2000’s classics will be remade next.
Well, one things for certain, you’ll need not worry for 2006’s comedy classic, John Tucker Must Die. In fact, fans of the movie have good reason to get excited!
According to a report by IndieWire, a sequel to John Tucker Must Die, John Tucker Must Die 2, is in the work with its original cast!
American actress Arielle Kebbel, known for her roles in movies such as Soul Plane, Aquamarine, Vampires Suck and more, will not only reprise her role as Cassie in John Tucker Must Die 2 but will also be part of the production team.
She has also confirmed that “all of the OG cast” is included in the screenplay itself, namely Brittany Snow, Ashanti, Sophia Bush, Jesse Metcalfe and Penn Badgley.
A redemption arc is on the way?
John Tucker Must Die 2 will apparently give John Tucker, who is obviously not dead, a “chance to change” his philandering ways.
Sharing that he can’t wait to see what’s in store for his character, Metcalfe who plays John Tucker shared,
“I’m here for it. I can’t wait to unleash this dad bod on the big screen.”
John Tucker Must Die centered around a group of girls who decide to take revenge by using the new girl in school, Kate, to break John Tucker’s heart and destroy his social life, after finding out that he was in relationships with all of them.
Having seen the remarks of classic movies, we’d honestly rather old school movies have sequels with their original casts.
