The time has come for the Malay community to unite, and for that reason, Dr Akmal Saleh is proposing that UMNO leave the MADANI government and join the Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS).
He made the remarks while delivering a speech at the UMNO Youth Special Convention at Dewan Tun Dr Ismail, World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL) on Saturday (3 January), stressing that the time has come for the two largest Malay-based parties to set aside their differences for the sake of religion, race, and the nation.

While Akmal did not deny the verbal clashes and disagreements between the two parties, he said it’s high time they put those aside.
“The time has come for us to reconnect and cultivate a greater sense of unity to restore national interests,” he said. Lines have been crossed with insults to the 3Rs (race, religion, and royalty), and UMNO can no longer remain patient.”
The UMNO Youth Chief also pointed out that UMNO, particularly its Youth wing and the entire party leadership, is ready to serve as a platform for uniting the Malay community as part of its responsibility to defend religion, race, and the homeland.
With UMNO and PAS, the Malay community will unite
In his opening speech, Akmal said, “When forming the government, we set red lines: do not touch our religion, our monarchy, and our race.” He added that this effort at unity is not based merely on nostalgia, but is instead an urgent necessity for the survival of the Malay people.

He added, “I call on the leadership to close old chapters. If there are lingering grievances, move forward from those old stories and start a new chapter.”
“We have learned from the consequences of past divisions, when our people became increasingly emboldened to insult us and sensitive issues were openly discussed as if the Malays no longer existed in this country.”
During his speech, Akmal pointed out that UMNO did not collapse when it lost power, but the party will face that fate if it bows without dignity, reported Sinar Harian.
“The Malays are known for their patience, and our religion teaches us to be patient. But I want to tell those on the other side that patience has its limits.”
This proposal will be brought to the Supreme Council and the UMNO General Assembly to be passed as a resolution. What do you think of this plan?
