Singapore’s former presidential candidate, Tan Kin Lian, recently highlighted how Singaporeans were allegedly queuing up outside a hypermarket in Johor Bahru, Johor, before the supermarket even opened for the day.
Taking to his Facebook page, the politician showcased the queue of Singaporean shoppers, which he had joined himself.

He wrote, “KSL City Mall in Johor Bahru opens at 10 AM. There was a long queue of Singaporeans, including me, waiting outside the Lotus supermarket for the store to open.”
The image shows a significant number of people waiting for the shutter doors to open.
Malaysians share their two cents on the video
The image has left Malaysians divided, as some welcomed Singaporeans spending their money in our country, while others mocked them.
One netizen also questioned why Singaporeans still choose to shop in Malaysia despite being mocked by Malaysians.

“Okay lah. We (Malaysians) work there. They (Singaporeans) shop here. It’s a win-win situation.”

“The way they’re buying things, is it the end of the world? Does Singapore not have shopping malls?”
