Most of us love popcorn! But in order to get it, cinemas are often the only option.

However, that may change soon as a man from Melaka who love popcorn just as much had come up with his own popcorn which he founded, produces and manufactures all by himself! He names his product Sweekiz Popcorn.

Sweekiz is a premium popcorn manufacturer located in Alor Gajah, Melaka. It was founded by Tuan Nor Afendey Aznor Rizal who started the business in 2012. The idea was inspired by his wife who loves the popcorn snack but felt that there were unable to purchase popcorns near them other than in cinemas.

He had no previous experience in popcorn making but that did not stop him from trying to make the snack. So, he took it into his own hands to learn the art of popcorn making which took him two years to perfect the taste of the popcorn.

They were previously known as Qasrina, taking after their child’s name, but have now rebranded to Sweekiz popcorn. The production started from home in a small scale, only supplying his popcorn to weddings at Melaka. The encouraging response during that period of time inspired Tuan Nor Afendey to further expand his business and open up a store in Melaka.

However, when the pandemic struck, the business strategy had to be shifted to marketing the popcorns online. Allowing Sweekiz consumers to still enjoy the popcorn across Malaysia at the comfort of their own homes.

Sweekiz has two popcorn flavours, their all-time favourite flavour caramel and their premium flavour chocolate. For more information, you can visit their official website and their Instagram page. Additionally, you can also purchase their product online
