Most appams in Malaysia have a coconut milk-infused spongy center with crispy soft edges. It is typically prepared over a high fire in pans that resemble shallow bowls called appachattis.

The decoration here is opulent from every angle, with a soothing, mouth-watering aroma floating through the grand restaurant. It’s not only suitable for special occasions, but it’s also comfortable for everyday family meals. There’s many branches of India Gate so it’s very likely to have one just a short drive away from your home.
The appam here is available daily but only from 3pm to 6pm. This tiny 26-year-old Bangsar stall is dependable and well-liked by city dwellers. Most prefer the brown sugar variation; coconut milk and brown sugar are lavishly put onto appam batter and swirled in a skillet so the borders remain fluffy while the sides are brittle.

Don’t be fooled by this stall’s small interior. Located in the same area as The Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (KLPAC), KR Mani Curry House serves appam usually during breakfast time and then again at 4:30pm till 11pm.
It’s a good reliable place to get a quick appam run here. They have plain and egg versions as well but nothing beats the classic brown sugar appam!
