An art form for those who witness it and a sport for those who partake, ice skating is undoubtedly one of the most graceful acts any skilled individual can carry out. Requiring a precise technique and contemplating moves carried out by those gifted on the ice can sometimes leave us in pure awe.
A recent TikTok video of an ice skating student from Indonesia named Faiza Maharani has been making waves online after she shared a brief clip of her encapsulating skills to her page @faizakima. In the video, Faiza, who glides gracefully on the ice, starts to twirl elegantly on one spot.
With a calm disposition on her face, Faiza makes multiple spins on one leg, and then another series of spins while holding her arm in the air. The TikTok clip ends with the skater stopping her spin at one point, letting out a small laugh while others around her stare in admiration.
In a brief conversation with WORLD OF BUZZ, Faiza stated that she very much considers herself a beginner skater. Commenting on her experience as a student at a figure skating academy in Indonesia, Faiza revealed that she had started taking private lessons recently, in 2022.
“My progress isn’t much since I am an adult skater and I’ve not been skating every day since I was a child. Even though I started in 2022, the total amount of days I’ve skated has been about 75 in total, with and without lessons,” she shared to WORLD OF BUZZ.
Encapsulated by her skills, many commenters also complimented the skater on her technique, being able to pull off great spins in the TikTok video.
