Indian billionaire, Savji Dholakia bought 1,200 cars and 400 condominium units for 1,700 of his outstanding employees for Diwali.
Diwali is practically the biggest Hindu festival and it’s often celebrated with gift-giving, much like Christmas. While sweets are the most common gifts, there are employers who would also give their workers bonuses or larger item presents.
However, no one can beat the generousity of Dholakia as his gifts this year were said to amount to a whopping RM32 million.
The 54-year old billionaire that makes his fortune off dealing diamonds runs a company with 5,500 staffs and has picked out 1,700 exceptional employees based on “loyalty, skills and value addition”.
In fact, this isn’t the first time Dholakia has surprised the world with his incredible kindness. Dubbed as ‘India’s most generous boss’ (and probably the world’s), the man has been setting the pace for years.

Two years ago, he bought 200 condominium units, 400 cars and 500 expensive jewelry for 1,200 of his employees. He also runs several incentive programs throughout the years.
The generous boss understands the importance of acknowledging an employee’s contribution, and is keen to let his staffs know how much they are valued.
“We have exports worth [RM2.8 billion] across more than 70 countries, but nothing is more valuable than our employees,” Dholakia says.
“I don’t have words to describe the happiness we see in them, and the happiness we feel,” he adds. “If we keep our employees happy, God will keep us happy.”
