A 50-year-old Malaysian man was apprehended by PDRM for hurling vulgarities towards JPJ officers and obstructing their duties during a roadblock in Penang.
A video went viral on Reddit, which shows the man holding up his phone to record the scene and the officers on duty while uttering vulgarities.
He could also be heard repeatedly saying, “I’m not afraid!”

The authorities at the scene remained calm and told the man to stop. The man’s Indonesian girlfriend was also at the scene trying to de-escalate the situation.
The special operation was conducted in conjunction with the 2025 Chinese New Year (CNY) celebrations at the Penang Bridge Toll Plaza last night (February 9), which was also shared on JPJ Penang’s Facebook.

Expired license and no insurance
JPJ officers issued the man a summon after he was caught with an expired Motor Vehicle License (LKM) and having no valid insurance.
The man, however, lost his temper when the enforcement officers informed him that his motorcycle would be confiscated. The situation became increasingly tense when the man began to provoke and act aggressively toward the JPJ and traffic police officers while using abusive language.
When attempts to ease the situation failed, the man was apprehended by PDRM officers. His girlfriend followed him while he was being escorted to the police car and begged for his release.
Meanwhile, Penang JPJ Director Zulkifly Ismail said the man was arrested for obstructing the duties of a civil servant, reported Malaysia Gazette.
“The motorcyclist failed to cooperate with the enforcement authorities, so we took action and he was arrested by the police for obstructing a civil servant from carrying out his duties.”
The operation began from 8.30 PM to midnight, with a total of 1,083 vehicles inspected and 211 of them were issued with 391 summons notices for various offences.
