Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail has called on the public to refrain from making speculative or negative remarks regarding the student bullying case in Sabah, especially those that touch on sensitive issues involving race, religion, or royalty (3R).
“We urge everyone to allow the police the necessary space to carry out a thorough and impartial investigation,” he said.

He emphasised that public discourse linking the case to 3R elements or political narratives could hinder the investigation and create unnecessary tension.
“Such comments not only complicate our efforts but also risk creating public anxiety and a hostile environment.”
He further appealed to all parties to stop spreading unverified claims or assigning blame to specific groups, political entities, or the royal institution, stressing that such actions are unhelpful and potentially harmful.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has also announced that the Attorney General’s Chambers has received the complete investigation report regarding the death of Zara Qairina Mahathir.

He emphasised that such a death should not be taken lightly, let alone used as a basis to make baseless accusations or to attack specific individuals, including the Minister of Education.
“There was a recent death, and the Education Minister was attacked. What is happening to our country? A death is not a trivial matter. When a death occurs, it is our collective responsibility to seek the truth—not to immediately point fingers.”
“The IGP informed me that 60 individuals have already been called to give statements. We must remember that this is a country governed by the rule of law, not one overrun by slander,” he said.
He added, “No one, whether a Tan Sri, Datuk Seri, or minister will be protected if involved in a crime such as murder or conspiracy. But at the same time, do not slander a minister’s child, or the relatives of the deputy prime minister or deputy chief minister.”
