On the 8th of June, Defence Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri announced that RM50 will be accredited to Malaysians’ e-wallets once they download the MySejahtera app.
To no one’s surprise, we all rushed to download the app until the app crashed! Health Director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah even had to advise netizens to give the app some time to avoid congestion. However, you might’ve noticed that your e-wallet is still empty.
If this is the case, not to worry. Public Health Malaysia just informed that the government hasn’t started banking in the money and urges Malaysians to be patient as they will be making an announcement soon.
They advised Malaysians to download the app and use it first to avoid overloading it. Downloading it last minute could cause the server to hang again and the app could crash, making it inconvenient for its users.
If you’re someone who has to leave the house regularly, it is highly recommended that you download the app as you are required to register with it before you enter any shop.
Besides providing information, the app also allows users to perform self-assessments on themselves and their family members. If needed, the app will also be able to locate the nearest hospitals and clinics for Covid-19 screening and treatment.
If you haven’t downloaded the app, what are you waiting for? Let’s not wait for the RM50 to motivate us, remember we play an equal responsibility in curbing the Covid-19 pandemic.
